Laser beams are confined to a long cage, creating ethereal light structures that emerge from their implied boundaries. This architectural installation posits that when a creative impulse is subject to conditions and regulations, it can manifest as art. The behavior of a single line becomes remarkably complex when forced into the boundaries of a simple rectangular prism. Far from deadening the laser beam’s movement, the cage-prism acts as an armature through which the line reveals its power to define time and space.
