A Separate Reality is a collaboration between Houston-based Anguilu’s iconic street art and Knapps’ light and sound installations, telling a story of time, identity, and natural resilience. The work blends street painting with modern technology, light, and sound.
Oscillating between dark and light, raw and processed, Dionysian emotion and Apollonian law, this work channels ancestral rhythm and art practices through the lens of contemporary technology. The vibrant works of Anguilu, which have become a staple of Houston’s arts and culture, reach a second degree of movement with AI generative coding, sound and light.
